THE DESIGNER & HER STORY

Afsana Helali.
Simply, June.

A creative journey shaped by courage, cultural pride and a lifelong curiosity for design.

Afsana Helali, known as June, is the CEO and designer behind JDNEC — June’s Design & Exclusive Collections.

Her story began with a sewing machine in class eight. After moving to Dubai, she returned to learning through a fashion design course at Capital University College in Sharjah. In her interview with The Fame Magazine, June credits her family’s encouragement and instructor Aiswarya Menon’s mentorship with helping her find the confidence to pursue design.

That confidence became a collection: six dresses prepared for her debut at Be Unique Fashion Carnival Dubai 2024. Her first walk alongside the models marked a dream taking shape on the runway.

Today, JDNEC’s portfolio brings together detailed occasionwear, expressive colour and statement silhouettes — an invitation to make personal style your own.

A PERSONAL SOURCE OF INSPIRATION

Rooted in heritage.
Open to possibility.

Proud of her Bangladeshi roots, June speaks warmly of muslin, taat and jamdani. She wore a fusion-styled jamdani for her debut runway occasion, bringing a personal connection to heritage into her fashion story.
